75 years after its birth, the Ruda Polyphonic Choir celebrates this important milestone with a CD dedicated to the Friulian villotta, a fundamental popular theme in the development of choral singing in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The project bears witness to the choir’s commitment to promoting the Friulian language and culture and was therefore passionately supported by ARLeF, which took care of the translation and adaptation of the ancient and modern texts of the libretto, respecting the spelling official and local variant.
Nûfcent Furlan. Musichis su temis popolârs di un Friûl che nol è plui (Friulian XX century. Musics on popular themes about a Friuli region that does not exist anymore), this is the title of the CD published by Nota, is a journey into memory in 21 tracks, which aims to outline a story of emigration, loves, passions and wars. The choice of the cover, which significantly portrays the famous painting by Zigaina “Assembly of laborers on the Cormor”, highlights its intent even more.
